Washington: Tahawwur Rana, one of the main accused in the 26/11 Mumbai terror attacks, has been arrested in Los Angeles, USA. Rana, 59, was sentenced to 14 years in prison in connection with the Mumbai attacks. He was also sentenced to 10 years in prison in the United States for supporting terrorist groups. However, due to his ill health, it was decided to release him earlier than the sentence handed down from the Los Angeles jail last week. However, he was recaptured two days later.
Tahavur Rana was arrested and re-arrested within two days of his release. He is now likely to be handed over to India. India had earlier demanded extradition to the United States in connection with the Mumbai attacks. The case is still pending in the United States. Therefore, the US may decide to hand over Rana to India.
U.S. Attorney General Tahavar Rana has been sentenced to 10 years in prison in Chicago for supporting terrorist groups. His sentence was until 2021. ” Rana is the mastermind behind the 2011 Mumbai attacks in India. About 160 people were killed in the attack. He was arrested in Los Angeles, USA after the Mumbai attacks.
Tahavur Rana, who is of Pakistani origin and currently a Canadian citizen, has been convicted in India in connection with the Mumbai attacks (26/11). He was sentenced in 2013 to 14 years in prison.
