China's eye on East Ladakh, 'that' road important for India, Sharad Pawar's advice to Modi
"I expressed my views in a video conferencing meeting held by Prime Minister Narendra Modi against the backdrop of tensions with China," said NCP President Sharad Pawar (Sharad Pawar on PM Modi All Party Meet).
Mumbai: Prime Minister Narendra Modi had called an all-party meeting on the backdrop of tensions with China. NCP leader Sharad Pawar and Shiv Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray were present at the meeting. After the meeting, Sharad Pawar reacted on his official Twitter account. Meanwhile, in the meeting, the opposition assured that they are with the government and will support whatever decision the government takes against China (Sharad Pawar on PM Modi All Party Meet).
What exactly did Sharad Pawar say?
I visited China in 1993 when I was the Defense Minister of India. This time a peace treaty was signed with China. This was the first attempt in 1993 after the Sino-Indian War of 1962.
With few exceptions, the two countries have respected the terms of the peace agreement. Based on my past experience with the border issues and available information, I presented my thoughts at the meeting.
Over the past three decades, China has quietly consolidated its position on the 4,000 km LAC (Line of Actual Control) with its armed forces. He has focused on expansion and strengthening, especially in the eastern Ladakh region.
China has taken a number of measures to strengthen the border. China has accumulated many devices in 4,000 kilometers. Therefore, there is no denying that China may continue to do so in the future.
The road connecting Dabruk to DBO is entirely on the Indian side of the LoC. This road is important for India, as DBO has a good advanced landing ground. The Air Force has a good airfield for emergency response in this area.
The DBO is also important as it connects the Karakoram Range and the Siachen Glacier on the left.
Chinese troops have infiltrated the Galvan Valley plains to dominate the Dabruk-DBO road built by Indian troops on the Ladakh border. The Chinese military may decide to close the road at any time. The Indian Army has spent a lot of money for this road.
Chinese troops have occupied the highlands of the Galvan Valley. They need to evacuate the premises. Measures are important for this. It is necessary to formulate a political strategy to reduce border tensions and build understanding with China

I shared my views based on the experiences on diplomatic solutions through a video conference with Hon. Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi against the backdrop of the conflict between Indo-Chinese troops in the Galwan Valley of East Ladakh.@PMOIndia @narendramodi #GalwanValley

PLA must be evacuated from occupying high ground in Galwan Valley on the Indian side. If we want PLA to evacuate from Galwan, compulsory measures are required. It would be advisable to strategize using diplomatic channels to difuse tension on the border & make China see reason.
