A fund of Rs 12 crore 44 lakh has been sanctioned to increase the testing capacity of Sassoon Hospital in Pune, informed Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Pune District Ajit Pawar today.

It is necessary to increase the capacity of tests (Funds Approved To Sasoon Hospital) for corona prevention. In this regard, a fund of Rs 12 crore 44 lakh has been sanctioned to increase the testing capacity of Sassoon Hospital in Pune, informed Deputy Chief Minister and Guardian Minister of Pune District Ajit Pawar today. He also directed to take action against the hospitals which are charging exorbitant fees (Funds Approved To Sasoon Hospital).
A review meeting on Corona Infection Prevention Measures was held under the chairmanship of Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar at Jhumbar Hall in the Divisional Commissioner's Office. The meeting was attended by Mayor Muralidhar Mohol, Divisional Commissioner Dr. Deepak Mhaisekar and other officials were also present.
On this occasion, Deputy Chief Minister Ajit Pawar said that a fund of Rs. Apart from this, a fund of Rs. 7 crore 15 lakh 81 thousand has also been provided for other necessary machinery. The funds will be used to purchase medical equipment needed for corona prevention. In addition, he said that necessary funds have been provided for the vacancies of nurses and nurses.
Instructing to submit the reports of Covid-19 tests in time, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the necessary manpower for the laboratory for testing Covid-19 discharge samples should be made available by the municipal administration immediately and the administration should ensure that patient and death information in Sassoon, Naidu, Yashwantrao Chavan Hospitals are updated. Also, doctors who are negligent in treating patients with covid and other ailments will not be spared.
Under no circumstances will there be a shortage of funds for timely treatment of Corona patients. Expenditure should be made from the funds of the district annual plan for essential matters. Mayor Muralidhar Mohol said that there is a need to check the discharge samples and increase the bed capacity of the intensive care unit and the corporation is making efforts in this regard. Dr. Subhash Salunkhe said that planning is needed to provide beds to the needy.
Divisional Commissioner Dr. Deepak Mhaisekar informed about the measures being taken by the administration to reduce the death rate. Settlement Commissioner S. Chokkalingam said the day-to-day planning of the services of the doctors at Sassoon Hospital had brought harmony to the work.
District Collector Naval Kishor Ram said the administration was making efforts to bring the number of patients under control in rural areas near Pune city. He also said that the number of patients in the taluka has been reduced. Also, Municipal Commissioner Shekhar Gaikwad and Shravan Hardikar informed about the measures being taken by the Municipal Corporation for corona control.
The meeting reviewed in detail the discharge capacity, number of positive patients, medical background, ward wise number of patients, containment zone wise status, institutional quarantine capacity, examination of senior citizens, condition in rural areas as well as treatment facilities.
